The Halite Mineral, also known as rock salt comes in many colors including clear to white, yellow, red, brown, light blue, dark blue, violet and pink. If you scratch it on a streak plate it makes a white streak and is a 2.5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. Halite is commonly used in food preparation and for use in the chemical industry. This natural mineral comes in a cotton specimen collection bag with an information card including details on the minerals formation, characteristics and uses.  Specimen size ranges from 1-2 inches
